Roma to Toowoomba 2 days 1 night

Join us for an exciting adventure as we journey from Roma Railway Station to Toowoomba (returning by bus) stopping at the charming towns of Miles, Chinchilla and Dalby along the way. Get ready to explore the beautiful countryside, experience the local culture, and create unforgettable memories.

Roma to Toowoomba via train/bus is a 2 day 1 night tour which includes your 2 day heritage rail tour to Toowoomba and return to Roma by bus.

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Sunday 15th June

10:00 Arrive at Roma Station with your luggage labeled with your name and phone number

10:30 Depart Roma for Chinchilla

Enjoy your boxed lunch on the train while travelling to Miles

A short stop at Miles where you can stretch your legs whilst the loco takes on water

18:00 Arrive Chinchilla, bus transfer to your motel in the late afternoon

Dinner tonight is at “The Palms” restaurant for a 2 course meal where you can compare notes with your fellow travelers on your tour experiences

Day 2 – Monday 16th June

07:00 Breakfast is buffet style at “The Palms” restaurant

09:30 Depart Chinchilla for Toowoomba

Stop at Dalby station – stretch your legs and enjoy a lunch of assorted sandwiches, wraps and slices.

16:00 Arrive Toowoomba Railway Station, collect your luggage and return to Roma by bus

• A kiosk selling tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages and snacks is available on the train. Although we have EFTPOS available, we do pass through some black spots. Please have cash available for this if necessary.

Warwick to Stanthorpe – One Way (Train only)

0730 – Arrive at Warwick Station

0800 – Train Departs for Stanthorpe

1015 – Arrive at Stanthorpe Station ( morning tea is available on the station and included in your ticket)

Depart Warwick Station at 08:00am for a leisurely heritage train trip to Stanthorpe, arriving at 10:15am.

After easing into the uphill sections between Warwick (1,492ft), and Silverwood (1,913ft), we leave civilisation and wind up past sandstone ruins of Spring and Mineral Creek bridges before a short stop to check the locomotive before passing through the two tunnels on the line.

After this brief pause, it’s time to enjoy the spectacular views as we climb the Silverwood range to Dalveen where we pass The Summit (3,035ft), the highest QR station. Since leaving Warwick, we have risen 1,543 feet in the space of 32 miles. After passing The Summit we coast down into Stanthorpe.

Please plan to arrive at the Warwick Railway Station, Brosnan Cres, Warwick at least 30 minutes before departure.

Warwick to Wallangarra, Lunch at Wallangarra Railway Station – Girraween National Park Tour home by train

10:45 – Train departs for Ballandean

11:45 – Bus to Wallangarra Railway Station

12:00 – Lunch at Wallangarra Station

13:30 – Bus Tour of the Girraween National Park – Queenslands Rugged but Spectacular Highlands

15:30 – Arrive back at Stanthorpe Station ready to Board your train for your trip back to Warwick

18:00 – Arrive at Warwick Station

Description of the tour… (all included in the ticket price)

Depart Warwick Station.

After morning tea on Stanthorpe Railway Station (included in the price) we depart for Ballandean. View wineries, highland country fauna and flora, orchards and hugh boulders.

Arrive at Ballandean and take a 15minute bus ride to the Wallangarra Railway Station. Lunch on the platform (included in the price) the depart by bus for a tour of the Girraween National Park (included in the price) ending at the Stanthorpe Railway Station.

We then depart Stanthorpe by train making our way back down the range with a setting sun before we arrive back in Warwick around 6.00pm.

There is plenty of free parking at the Warwick Railway Stration.

Warwick Hendon Return – optional sausage sizzle on Warwick Railway Station prior to departure

1200 Plan to arrive at Warwick Railway Station Brosnan Crescent Warwick QLD. Free parking is available. You will be allocated a railway carriage and seat. Toilets are available on the platform. Enjoy the Live Entertainment & FREE Sausage Sizzle available on the platform.

1300 Train departs from Warwick Railway Station

1400 Train arrives at Hendon, locomotive is shunted around the consist. You do not disembark at Hendon.

1420 Train departs Hendon for Warwick.

1500 Train arrives back at the Warwick Railway Station.

NOTE: Snacks, coffee, tea and alcohol are available onboard. Toilets are available on the train.

Please stay in your allocated seat (whilst not moving around) during your entire journey.

Cross wooden bridges, numerous road crossings, rock cuttings, see crops, native bushland, dams, villages… experience it all.

There is also a kiosk operational on the train which sells other drinks and snacks.

1230 – Loco detaches from train and runs around ready to return to Stanthorpe (Please note passengers can get off the train at Ballandean)

1300 – Train begins journey back to Stanthorpe

1430 – Train arrives back at Stanthorpe Station
